Problem: Penguins 2015 competition brief, To design a fresh and witty book cover design conveying the ‘Freakonomics way of life’ hinting at a broad range of topics and using the cover as way into the Freakonomics frame of mind.

Solution: I set out to create a cover that really digs into the heart of the “Freakonomics way of life”. I used the idea of the Rorschach test and its ideas of perceptions as inspiration. With it as my basis I was able to create a cover that at first glance shows glimpses of the book but slowly, as one reads Freakonomics, reveals key points in the book.
